Abstract

Development of animated films in Indonesia is getting better every year. From 2D animation until 3D animation, work of the animators of Indonesia already can be seen on the television or cinema. But especially in 2D animation in Indonesia there are still some things that need to improve like picture quality, visual effect, and the most important is the quality of motion. Although the quality of the animation in Indonesia is not as good as the japan’ animation yet, but there are some of indonesia’s animation production that have applied and noticed how an animation looked natural and like having a soul. In this thesis, researcher will try to analyze how an animation has a smooth movement and natural as the Japanese animated film, and researcher will be using frame by frame method in this research of 2D animation, begin with making keyframe images and then inbetween images until the next production process. 2D animation produced in the form of video with resolution 1400x768, format 24 FPS, and the duration is 1 minute 34 seconds.
