Abstract
To meet the needs of consumers in terms of service in general, a hotel has one section that is specialized in handling guests. The section is Receptionist, but the work system in this section still uses the method in the form of simple documents that hamper the smooth service to guests. This problem also occurred in Selekta Hotel Yogyakarta, to try to overcome this problem the authors proposed making a Web-Based Hotel Room Reservation Information System at Selekta Yogyakarta Hotels using HTML, PHP, CSS and MySQL as database. This information system is expected to be one of the solutions that can be used to simplify check-in and check-out transactions in processing guest data, and to make it easier for users to receive promo information, services and the agenda of Selekta hotel. The author find that the hotel Selekta require a system that can help to resolve these problems. The author intends to create a web-based information system as a thesis titled "Analysis and Design of Information Systems Room Reservations Website based on Selekta Hotel Yogyakarta".
