Salah satu tantangan utama dalam\r\npenggunaan background 3D adalah kecenderungan tampilan fotorealistik yang\r\nkurang sesuai dengan gaya ilustratif karakter 2D.\r\n\r\nPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan stylized\r\nbackground 3D menggunakan teknik Toon Shading berbasis Non-Photorealistic\r\nRendering (NPR) pada film “For Mama”. Pendekatan dilakukan melalui\r\npengembangan shader prosedural menggunakan node Shader to RGB untuk\r\nmengontrol respons pencahayaan serta penerapan teknik Inverted Hull untuk\r\nmenghasilkan outline pada objek 3D.\r\n\r\nMetode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model\r\nADDIE yang meliputi tahap Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan\r\nEvaluation. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui validasi ahli dan uji respon audiens\r\nmenggunakan skala Likert.\r\n\r\nHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Toon Shading mampu\r\nmenghasilkan background 3D yang bersifat stylized serta memiliki karakter visual\r\nyang selaras dengan elemen 2D dalam animasi.
